How to remove gel nail wraps without damaging your nails

Your manicure has had its moment and now it's time for a new one.

First rule?

Don't. Peel. Them. Off.

Knowing how to remove gel nail wraps without damaging your nails is just as important as applying them correctly in the first place.

With Naila gel nail wraps, removal is simple. All you need is cuticle oil, a wooden cuticle stick and around 10 minutes.

Here's exactly how to do it.

What do you need to remove gel nail wraps?

Keep it simple.

You'll need:

  • cuticle oil;
  • a wooden cuticle stick;
  • around 10 minutes;
  • a little patience.

The goal isn't to get the wrap off as quickly as humanly possible.

Let the oil do the work for you.

Step 1: Apply cuticle oil around the nail wrap

Apply a generous amount of cuticle oil around the edges of the wrap, paying particular attention to the cuticle area.

Leave the oil to work for around five minutes.

This helps you begin gently separating the wrap from your natural nail.

Step 2: Gently lift one edge

Take your wooden cuticle stick and gently find an area where the wrap is beginning to lift.

Don't force it.

Once you've found your starting point, carefully work the stick underneath the edge of the wrap.

Slowly is the whole point here.

Step 3: Add more cuticle oil underneath

This is the step you don't want to skip.

As you begin lifting the wrap, add more cuticle oil into the space between the gel wrap and your natural nail.

Give it a few seconds to work before continuing.

Feeling resistance?

Stop. More oil.

Then continue gently lifting the wrap a little at a time.

Step 4: Continue until the wrap comes off

Work slowly across the nail until the gel wrap has completely lifted away.

Don't pull or peel it off – even when there's only a tiny bit left attached.

Those last few millimetres deserve just as much patience as the first.

Your goal is to remove the wrap without unnecessarily pulling at the surface of your natural nail.

Step 5: Clean your nails

Once you've removed all your wraps, wash your hands and clean away any remaining residue.

And if you've already decided what colour is going on next – we know you – you can prepare your nails for another set.

Lightly buff if needed and use an alcohol wipe to make sure the nail surface is completely clean, dry and oil-free before applying your new wraps.

This bit matters.

Any cuticle oil left on the nail can affect how well your next wrap adheres.

The biggest mistake: peeling your nail wraps off

We know.

It's satisfying.

Still no.

Even if one corner of your gel nail wrap has already started lifting, that doesn't mean the rest is ready to come off.

Pulling it away can put unnecessary stress on the surface of your natural nail.

Instead, remember:

Oil. Wait. Lift. Repeat.

That's it.

Can you remove gel nail wraps without acetone?

With Naila gel nail wraps, you don't need to soak your nails in acetone for removal.

Our removal method uses cuticle oil to help gradually lift the wrap away from your natural nail.

And that's intentional.

We wanted the whole manicure experience to feel easy – not just putting your nails on, but taking them off too.

Can I apply another set straight away?

Yes, my girl.

Once your previous manicure is completely removed, make sure your nails are clean, dry and completely free from oil before starting again.

Then comes the difficult part.

Choosing your next colour.

Remove. Pick a new colour. Repeat.
